GREAT SHOW! There were over 300 cars in the parking lot. I am talking the real deal car show people! They were still coming in as we were leaving. Thank you LYNN SMITH for a great location & a great Labor Day Show!
We were in the shade, the 50/50 pot kept growing. Congratulations to the winner JAMES HAMM. The nice cool breeze and occasional clouds kept everyone comfortable – that and the covered parking. Lynn Smith’s own Lonnie Morgan ran some really great deals on the new and used cars. Plenty of people were taking advantage of the special deals – in fact they had folks standing in line to buy cars.
Our winners were:
BEST OF SHOW was MR. DON KEMP in a 1952 Chevy silver fleet line
BEST OF SHOW TRUCK was STEVE WILLMOTH in a 1955 Cameo Carrier pickup a nice yellow.
LYNN SMITH'S CHOICE being a 1956 blue & white Chevy Nomad owned by MAD DOG DODSON.
We had 54 other awards given out –
This show had some excitement with a medical issue or two... we were a little bit of a late at getting all the awards out. No one seemed to mind…. We were more concerned with the problem Mr. Ogle had – an ambulance was called, he was checked out and went home with family. We will check on him to be sure he is still doing ok. One of our grandkids, Kayla, had a major bloody nose – applied an ice pack… she is doing fine.
My grandkids were at the show to help out and thought it was so cool to get inside of a working fire truck and take pictures. It was a great day for a car show and lots of fun for everyone! Mark your calendar now ~ we will be back at Lynn Smiths October 30th for the Howling Halloween Car Show complete with trick or treat the trucks, costume contest for men, women, boys & girls. Our famous scream off, the hoola-hoop & limbo of course we will be doing the monster mash. A special award for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for the best Halloween presentation with a vehicle.
